Former H.L. Bourgeois basketball standout Rayshawn Mart Jr. reached a huge milestone earlier this week when he scored his 1,000th career point for Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans during a game versus Rust College.

The junior guard is the 28th player to obtain this feat in the university’s history.

The noteworthy point came from a free throw attempt with 6:54 remaining in the game.

The Gold Rush won the game 88-77, too, and Martin scored 20 points, which brought his total to 1,007.
