Congratulations to Houma’s Stephanie McNabb, the First Female Finisher in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Full Marathon, with a time of 2:57:39!

McNabb began running in 2010, and completed her first marathon in 2013, but never considered herself to have competitive times in the sport– until she was recently inspired to participate in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon and make her best time yet.

“I’ve always been an avid runner, but I never thought I was super fast,” said McNabb. “But recently I was on a trip with the Nicholls Cross Country Team as a volunteer assistant coach, and we were talking about all the accomplishments of different female runners– and it clicked that they were all close to my age. I realized that if they were still achieving new times and goals, maybe I could too.”

This inspired McNabb to begin training hard for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon, where she placed as the first female finisher with her impressive time under 3 hours. McNabb is planning to complete her next race in January, and another one in April of 2024. Congratulations to Stephanie for this achievement!
