Houma’s very own Kalon Johnson was recently named Angler of the Year for the BAM Bassin Trail Series!
“Well family and friends, I finally did it! Today I secured Angler of The Year for the BAM Bassin Trail Series,” reads a Facebook post from Johnson. “I thought of it, I spoke on it, I worked for it and I received it! Today’s event on Bussey Brake was a grind but I’m thankful I was able to put something together to get 2nd place for the Elite 10 Championship. That second place finish is what helped me secure Angler of The Year. Glory be to God!”
Johnson also placed first at the 2023 Swamp Country Kayak Bass Association Chicot Classic in September of 2023, describing that experience as a major personal accomplishment for him as a bass fisher. Johnson has been professionally bass fishing since 2015.
