Maybe the third season will be the charm for Vandebilt Catholic graduate Theresa Plaisance in her WNBA career.

The local standout has shined so far in the young WNBA season, posting two-straight double-digit games in points for the Dallas Wings (the team formerly known as the Tulsa Shock).

Plaisance has done a lot of her damage from the 3-point line, opening the year 5-of-9 from behind the stripe, while scoring 12 points and 14 points in her two games.

For Plaisance, the chance to thrive with the Wings is predictable.

She entered the 2016 WNBA season red-hot and playing some of the best basketball of her career.

During the WNBA offseasons, Plaisance plays overseas – a common practice for the best women’s basketball players in the world.

In the past overseas season, Plaisance played in Israel. While there, she helped leadMaccabi Ashdod to the Cup Championships.

During her time in Israel, Plaisance averaged 12.4 points per game, while shooting 35.6 percent from behind the 3-point line.

The former LSU standout center was also a force on the glass, pulling in 7.3 rebounds per game while recording 1.4 blocks.

With the Wings, Plaisance is taking advantage of a shot at being a top-flight rotation player.

In her first two WNBA seasons, Plaisance was a reserve – behind Dallas’ loaded frontcourt.
