Durham to host fall baseball camps

Nicholls State Head baseball coach Chip Durham will host the annual ‘Chip Durham’s Fall Baseball Camps’ on November 19 for youth participants and November 20 for high school athletes.


&#8220I look forward to the camps every year,” said Durham. &#8220Campers will receive one-on-one instructional sessions from college coaches in the area and some select college players.”

This year’s camp is limited to the first 100 that register, and cost only $85.00 to sign-up before October 1. If the camper registers after


October 1, the fee is $110.00.

‘Fore’ a good cause


Bayou Land Familes Helping Familes will be hosting their ninth annual golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 21, at Sugarland Golf Course in Raceland.

Flag football


Registration for the Bayouland YMCA adult and youth flag football leagues will remain open through Friday.

Cost is $500 per team and $50 per player in the adult league (open to players 18 and over). It kicks off Sept. 16.

Cost is $30 for YMCA members, $70 for non-members in the youth league (open to players 7 to 11). It begins Sept. 12.

Registration for the Thibodaux Recreation Department’s Adult Flag Football League (open to players 18 and over) will also be open through Friday.

Cost is $150 per team. The season will begin Sept. 11.

Games will be played at Majors Baseball Field in Peltier Park.

The season will include night games under the lights.
