E.D. White played its best golf match of the season in defeating Terrebonne and Berwick at the wet Bayou Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals shot a 156, to the Tigers 171 and the Panthers 184.

“This is when you want to start getting better,” said Cardinals head coach Preston Lejuene. “Hopefully, we can continue to improve a little bit and we can play in the regional tournament.

E. D. White’s George Rivier had the lowest round with a 2-over 36.

The Cardinals’ Andrew Brien and Terrebonne’s Shane Garnett tied for second with 3-over 37. Jessie Grazier of E.D. White and Jeffery Authement of Terrebonne tied for fourth with a three-over 38.

Chas Cranford shot the best round for Berwick with an eight-over 42.

Even as the Cardinals improve, Lejuene gave the weather some credit for good putting.

“We played a practice round here Monday, and it was hard as a rock,” he said. “The rain helped soften the greens, and it held a little bit better.”
