The New Orleans Hornets announced earlier this week that proceeds from the team’s March 22 game against the Dallas Mavericks would go to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Greater New Orleans.

According to a release issued by the team, ticket sales proceeds will go to the Greater New Orleans MDA and will help fund research grants at Louisiana State University, the LSU Healthcare MDA Clinic and the Children’s Hospital Neuromuscular Clinic of New Orleans.

The MDA is one of the largest contributors to research and services for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). The release issued by the team says the MDA has expended more than $25 million for that cause.

A $35 donation will be made to charity for each $173 ticket purchased, a $10 donation will be made for each $35 ticket purchased, a $7 donation will be made for every $25 ticket purchased and a $5 donation will be made for every $15 ticket.

Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling (504) 593-4743.
