Brett Favre might have told a few teammates he’s not expecting to play in 2010.

But New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams isn’t buying it.

Speaking to USA Today following a recent training camp practice, Williams said the team hopes to continue its intensity this season – beginning with Favre and the Vikings on opening night in the Louisiana Superdome.

“We have to send messages to every offense about how physical it’s going to be when they play us,” Williams said. “Those messages are out there, starting with No. 4 [Favre].”

The Saints are one of the driving factors behind Favre’s indecision.

The Vikings’ quarterback is still nursing an ankle injury the Saints levied onto him during the NFC Championship game.
