Ellender kept its playoff hopes alive and improved to 4-3 overall with a one-point win over Central Lafourche. The Patriots scored 17 second-half point to clinch the victory and Cleveland Jones’ touchdown run with 2:23 remaining allowed the ensuing extra point to provide the final margin.

H.L. Bourgeois earned a convincing win over the Thibodaux Tigers to keep its playoff hopes alive. The Braves ran for over 300 yards, including 147 yards from Christian Williams and 138 yards from Jeremy Lagarde. H.L. Bourgeois had five takeaways in the first half, en route to a 28-0 lead at the break.

South Lafourche
Last week: lost 55-7 at South Terrebonne
Coming off if its first district win of the season, South Lafourche was optimistic in its game against South Terrebonne. However, the Gators scored early and often, as South Lafourche fell behind 35-0 in the third quarter.

Last week: won 55-7 at South Lafourche
The No. 5 ranked Gators continued their dominance of District 6-5A with a convincing win in Galliano. Philip Livas ran for 115 yards and had 85 yards receiving to go with four total touchdowns to key the victory. The Gators outgained South Lafourche 468-184.

Terrebonne
Last week: lost 37-21 at Denham Springs
Terrebonne was never able to get into the game, falling behind 17-0, and then 37-7 before scoring the game’s final two touchdowns. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 1-6 overall on the season. The reenter district play Friday.

Thibodaux
Last week: lost 42-7 at H.L. Bourgeois
Thibodaux continued its mid-season slide with its second-consecutive district loss. The Tigers gave up over 300 yards rushing. Thibodaux fell behind 28-0 at halftime, before scoring a touchdown to make it 28-7.

Vandebilt
Last week: lost 42-13 at Helen Cox
The Terriers scored a touchdown on their opening drive, but failed to maintain that momentum, losing 42-13 to district opponent Helen Cox. The Terriers outgained Cox 449-335, but failed to take advantage of the yardage advantage.

E.D. White
Last week: won 20-19 vs. Patterson
The Cardinals pulled out a one-point win over the district rival Lumberjacks. After losing to the same team 52-7 a year ago, E.D. White jumped out to a 20-7 lead before holding on at the end for a one-point win. Even with the victory, E.D. White was outgained 330-242, but did enough to earn the win.

Morgan City
Last week: lost 9-0 vs. Abbeville
Morgan City remained winless on the year, and failed to score a touchdown for the fourth-consecutive game. While the Tigers have not given up excess points, they have failed to get on the board. In the past four games, they have been outscored 53-2.

Patterson
Last week: lost 20-19 at E.D. White
The Lumberjacks fell to district-rival E.D. White in heartbreaking fashion. After scoring a touchdown in the third quarter, the Lumberjacks opted to go for two, but failed to convert at the pass was tipped an intercepted. E.D. White then ran out the clock, thanks to two special team’s penalties on E.D. White punt attempts.

Berwick
Last week: lost 23-0 vs. Franklin
The Panthers lost their sixth-straight game to fall to 1-6 on the season. In the past two games, Berwick has been outscored 64-14, and have not scored more than 20 points in a game since a season-opening win over East Iberville.

Central Catholic
Last week: won 31-14 at Gueydan
The Eagles won their second game of the game, improving to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in district play. With the win, Central Catholic has won two of its last four games with three district games remaining.

Nicholls St.
Last week: lost 37-7 at Sam Houston St.
The Colonels lost their first Southland Conference game of the season, thanks in part to six turnovers by its quarterbacks. Nicholls went into the half trailing 13-7, but failed to get any closer with the Bearkats scoring 24-unanswered points in the second half.

LSU
Last week: won 49-0 vs. Kentucky
LSU rebounded from a loss to Florida and beat Kentucky convincingly in Baton Rouge, last Saturday. JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn combined for four touchdowns, with Dwayne Bowe catching three of them. LSU added 274 yards rushing to earn the win.

New Orleans Saints
Last week: won 27-24 vs. Eagles
The Saints solidified themselves as a playoff contender with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. After losing a 17-3 lead and falling behind 24-17, the Saints used a touchdown pass to Joe Horn and last-second John Carney field goal to earn the win.
