An exhausting evening for H.L. Bourgeois goaltenders ended in a 7-0 district defeat against Terrebonne Friday.

Brooke Lessard was sidelined with a broken nose, so back-up netminder Alexandra Chauvin and star fullback Eva Prestenbach spent time between the pipes for H.L. Bourgeois.

Both, however, fell victim to a prolific offensive attack that would eventually outshoot the Lady Braves 33-1.

Terrebonne’s Jessica Herradon scored three goals in quick succession to put Terrebonne ahead 3-0 fairly early in the game.

Scotti Dufresne and Anna Contreras also found the back of the net to give the Lady Tigers a 5-0 lead at the half.

The second half of the contest didn’t go much better for the Braves as they fought to slow down the pace of Terrebonne’s offense.

Prestenbach played tough and made numerous saves in the beginning of the second half, but the Lady Tigers increased its lead to 6-0 with Herradon’s fourth and final goal.

Her throw-in moments later set up a Blair Positerry kick that brought the score to 7-0.

“I felt that I did good, but I could have done better,” Herradon said. “I could have finished better and passed more. I think our goal is to win district and to go further than the second round of the playoffs.”

Terrebonne coach Julio Contreras was satisfied with the win.

“The girls did fine,” he said. “They executed the things that we talked about and I was satisfied with their game.”

In the boys’ game that followed, the Braves persevered through the second half to defeat the Tigers in a rivalry matchup.

Joshua Beeson scored Terrebonne’s only goal.

The Braves picked up goals from Dustin McClendon and Jacob Rydberg.
