Teens with a passion for sports and a love of children are needed at Thibodaux’s summer camp.

Recreation Director Ron Alcorn said applications are being accepted for lifeguards, youth camp counselors, baseball umpires and baseball scorekeepers.

The city’s summer camp is held June 8 through July 23, excluding the Fourth of July week (June 29 through July 3), at the Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium. It is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 12.

“We have already received many applications from individuals who have previously relied upon summer employment with the City of Thibodaux,” Alcorn said. “However, the new Summer Youth Camp will allow us to offer more area youth the opportunity to work close to home – in a great, safe and fun environment.”

Applicants must be at least 16 years old. To apply, visit the Recreation Department at 151 Peltier Park Drive. For more information about the camp, call (985) 446-7235 or visit www.ci.thibodaux.la.us.
