9: The Terrebonne Tigers’ 9-game regular season winning streak came to an end Friday night when they fell to New Iberia. Terrebonne already has a playoff berth clinched, but the Tigers lost valuable power points with the defeat.

1.8: The number of seconds left on the clock when Lutcher receiver and LSU commitment Jarvis Landry caught a game-winning touchdown pass to lead the Bulldogs to a 19-16 win against Vandebilt Catholic on the last offensive play of the game.

21: The number of unanswered points South Lafourche High School reeled off in a come from behind 21-12 victory against Thibodaux. The Tigers led 12-0 late in the first half before the Tarpons’ rally.

SportsNet Week 9 Players of the Week:

Bronze: E.D. White quarterback Grant Chiasson – Chiasson threw just four passes and rushed just two times. But that didn’t stop him from piling up 139 passing yards and 69 rushing yards with four total touchdowns in a blowout win.

Silver: Terrebonne halfback Deshaun Diggs – Terrebonne fell for the first time this season this Friday, but it had nothing to do with Diggs, as he rushed for 140 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns.

Gold: South Terrebonne junior receiver/halfback Jaquis Flores – Flores was a jack of all trades against H.L. Bourgeois, returning a kickoff for a touchdown, while also recording rushing and receiving touchdowns. Flores had close to 300 all-purpose yards in the winning effort.

The Super 6 power rankings (ranking Casey Gisclair’s six best Tri-parish teams):

1. Terrebonne – The mighty Tigers fell for the first time this season, but there’s no shame in losing to New Iberia by just three points on the road. None at all.

2. Patterson – The Lumberjacks are just pounding on district competition right now and will be an absolute force this postseason.

3. Central Catholic – Vandebilt’s loss lets Central Catholic slide back into the No. 3 spot after another easy win.

4. E.D. White – The Cardinals put the game away in the opening minutes and coaxed to an easy one on Friday.

5. South Terrebonne – The Gators needed a strong performance following a loss and they got one in a big way, scoring an easy win against H.L. Bourgeois.

6. Vandebilt – The Terriers fought and pushed as hard as they could, but they ultimately fell a second short against a very sound Lutcher team.
