March 12 – The MAX Charter School’s 3rd Annual “Race for Their Future” 5K Run/Walk will be held at Nicholls State’s John L. Guidry Stadium. The run will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the early registration deadline is Feb. 21. Early registrants will be charged $20, while everyone else will be asked to pay $25. March 19 – March 19 – The 5K-9 Run/Walk will take place at the Houma Civic Center. Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m., with the half-mile run/walk beginning at 9 a.m., and the 5K beginning at 9:30 a.m. The cost to enter is $20 if one registers before March 1 and $25 if after March 1. The entry fee includes shirt and food/drink event tickets. Proceeds to the event go to the Friends of Terrebonne Animal Shelter to benefit the homeless animals of Terrebonne Parish. Dog participants are encouraged, but are not required at the race. March 26 – Raceland Upper Elementary School will host their 11th Annual 5K Fun Run for Education at the school’s campus. Registration for the race will begin at 8 a.m. with the race beginning at 9 a.m. Cost of registering is $18 and included in that fee is a t-shirt, health screenings, refreshments and free door prizes. All proceeds go to purchase instructional and supplemental materials for the students of Raceland Upper Elementary.
