Oct. 16 – Gulf Coast Wrestling returns to the Amelia Recreation Center for GCW Presents “Brawl in the Fall.” Watch local favorites like Mustang Mike, Psycho Mike, Sweet Stan and Chris “The Rocket” Nassau compete in what is sure to be a non-stop night of wrestling action that features three title matches. Oct. 16 – Open tryouts for a 10U USSSA baseball team – Coach Gayle Robinson is holding the open tryouts at 10 a.m. at Norman Park in Morgan City. The team will play during the 2011 season. For any information on the tryout, those interested are asked to call 519-4003 or 300-4322.

Oct. 17 – The second-annual Saints Sunday at Southdown – Come watch the Saints game on two, 73-inch televisions and raise money to repair the plantation! Tickets cost $5 per person with children being admitted free. Tailgating for the noon kickoff will begin at 11:30 a.m. with music. Concessions will be sold on site, and activities will be available for children.
