August 12, 2010• Saturday and Sunday – The 2nd Annual John A. Brady Jr. Golf Classic will be held at LaTour Golf Club in Mathews. The tournament will consist of a 45-hole better ball match play bracket. Each two-man team will play a series of five, nine-hole matches. To register, interested parties are asked to contact the LaTour pro shop at (985) 532-7111.
• Saturday – Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA) heads to the Harang Auditorium in Thibodaux. Expected to appear are A.J. Styles, Jeff Jarrett and several other TNA regulars. The opening bell is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the doors open at 6:30. Tickets can be purchased through Ticket Master, or by calling the Harang Auditorium at (985) 446-7260.
• Aug. 25 – The Nicholls State baseball team’s annual walk-on tryouts will be held at 5 p.m. at Ray E. Didier Field. Anyone trying out must provide proof of health insurance and a school schedule to prove attendance. For more information, those interested can contact the Nicholls baseball office at (985) 448-4808.
• Aug. 28 – The South Lafourche Booster Club will host its 7th annual Booster Club Golf Tournament at Tidelands Country Club in Galliano. The tournament will consist of a four-player scramble. What to watch:
Thursday thru Sunday – The 2010 PGA Championship. Watch the best golfers in the world tee up in the final major of the season. Scheduled to play are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, among others. Coverage will be throughout the week on TNT and CBS.
