Metro High School Swim League swimmers from the Greater New Orleans area were honored Feb. 22 at a banquet. Those who finished in the top three in their respective events or relays at the Metro and LHSAA State Swim championships attended.
Included among the honorees were swimmers from Vandebilt Catholic and E.D. White Catholic High schools.
Vandebilt’s Monique Lefort, a senior, served as guest speaker and was awarded the Metro Swimmer of the Year. She has signed a letter of intent to swim at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Vandebilt Catholic High’s swim coach Duane Ring was presented the Metro Coaches’ Award for Division 2 (4A) schools. Among the Vandebilt Catholic swimmers honored were Megan Olivier, Kip Pierce, Amber Pierce, Monique Lefort, Anee Briglio, Sarah Fister, Sarah Henthorn, Ross Mullooly, Taylor Theriot, Garrett Marcel, Seth Guidry and Christopher Watson.
