The Louisiana Volleyball Coach’s Association All-Star Volleyball match took place in Stopher Gymnasium on Nicholls’ campus this past Saturday. The East All-Stars defeated the West All-Stars 3-1. The West All-Stars won the first game 27-25, but the East All-Stars responded by winning the next three games (25-22, 25-23, 25-20). The only local player that participated in the event was Maria Thomassie, of E.D. White. Thomassie finished the match after playing in two of the games and recorded one assist and two digs. Other players participating from around the area were Assumption’s Valencia Wise and Jerilyn Breaux. Wise recorded a kill, an assist and five digs, while Breaux added 11 digs.
