SportsNet Week 6 Players of the Week:

Bronze: Terrebonne halfback DeShaun Diggs – In a dogfight for the second-straight week, Terrebonne rode Diggs to the tune of 25 carries and 175 yards to stay unbeaten.

Silver: Vandebilt cornerback Daren Kitchen – On a tough and emotional night for football, Kitchen racked up 15 tackles for the Terriers to lead the team to a win against Belle Chasse.

Gold: South Lafourche linebacker Justin Lasseigne – With his team in dire need of a win, Lasseigne recorded 13 tackles and two interceptions to lead the previously winless Tarpons over the previously unbeaten South Terrebonne Gators.

The Super 6 power rankings ranking Casey Gisclair’s six best Tri-parish teams):

1. Terrebonne – The Tigers were in a fight again, but they remained unbeaten with a win against a solid Assumption team.

2. Vandebilt – It was an incredibly emotional day for the Terriers on Friday, but they overcame it and achieved victory. Never underestimate destiny, which Vandebilt has on its side this year.

3. Patterson – The Lumberjacks are showing why everyone considered them a state championship contender in the preseason. They continue to roll on.

4. E.D. White – Like Patterson, the Cardinals have rolled to a fast midseason after a slow start. The two teams’ meeting this weekend will truly be a treat.

5. Central Catholic – These guys just keep on going with another win Friday to stay unbeaten .The defense has to improve, though, after allowing 42 points this week.

6. South Terrebonne – You have to expect to drop quite a bit when you’re 5-0 and you lose to an 0-5 team on your own home field. And that was no fluke, either – the Tarpons outgained the Gators in almost every facet of the game.
