Two Surge Athletics cheerleading teams have received bids to compete at the 2024 All Star World Championship on the weekend of April 18-19, 2024 in Orlando, Florida.

“I was inspired to begin Surge Athletics earlier this year, after losing my brother and my dad,” explained Grace Price, founder and coach at Surge Athletics. “Those losses are what drove me to start an inspiring and powerful program. I wanted to offer something different from what others were doing around here– I wanted kids to have a place where they could come and let go of whatever is going on in their worlds.”

Price explained that the members of the new Surge Athletics range from ages 6-12, some with extensive cheerleading experience, and others just starting out. “We have a very motivated group of kids and coaches,” said Price. “We worked all summer and booked an early competition this year, which was a risk– and both of our All Star teams received bids to the World Championship!” Price explained that as a first-year program with no pervious seasons of experience to back them up, this was an especially huge accomplishment.

“It takes some gyms a long time to be able to achieve what these kids achieved,” said Price. “And I could not been prouder of my kids for going out, scoring highly, and receiving a bid to compete at Worlds.”
