Terrebonne Parish Schools are getting field turf for next fall.

That’s already been decided by the school board.

But that doesn’t help schools survive the wet fall that’s taken place throughout the 2018-19 athletic year.

Terrebonne High School announced today that its playoff game with Chalmette scheduled for tomorrow night has been moved to Thibodaux High School because of the wet, muddy conditions that Tom B. Smith Stadium’s natural grass have endured all week.

The stadium has taken a beating this season, so even the smallest amount of moisture is a hazard. But Terrebonne has received considerable rain in the past few days, which, combined with more forecast for tomorrow, led to the decision to move the game.

Kickoff remains for 7 p.m.
