At their regular council meeting on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the Terrebonne Parish Council officially commended the Queens Volleyball Team on being named 2023 Terrebonne Parish Recreation 12-14 Year-Old Girls Volleyball Champions!

The commendation as read by Councilman Brien Pledger: “Whereas, the Terrebonne Parish Recreation Queens Volleyball team has been competing since 2019; and whereas, this year, Queens Volleyball achieved great success by being named the 2023 Terrebonne Parish Recreation 12-14 Year-Old Girls Volleyball Champions; and whereas, the Queens Volleyball players have proven themselves as champions through continued practice and overcoming hardships; and whereas, the Queens Volleyball players and coaches also understand the importance of representing your community well, with several players finding success with both their schools’ and TPR’s athletic programs. Now, therefore be it resolved by the Terrebonne Parish Council, on behalf of the Parish President and the entire Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, that the Queens Volleyball Team be congratulated on their hard work and dedication toward being named the 2023 Terrebonne Parish Recreation 12-14 Year-Old Girls Volleyball Champions.”


One of the Queens’ coaches, Sierra Lyons, is the newest inductee into the Terrebonne High School Hall of Fame. The Queens Volleyball team and coaches were present to accept their commendations.

“I want to thank you all for recognizing our girls and continuing to allow us to play,” said Coach Lyons. “Thank you for providing the girls with something to do to keep them active, busy, and engaged in the community.”
