Nicholls state University has an impressive feather in its cap.
The local 4-year university was ranked as the No. 37 Top Public School and the 96th Best Regional University in the South, according to a report by the prestigious US, News and World Report.
The report says Nicholls serves its community well and prepares graduates far the jobs in our area.
The Colonels pride themselves cm strong programs for future teachers, nurses and future hands in the oil and gas industry, among other fields

Schools rankings are determined by graduation rates, retention rates, financial resources graduation rate performance and alumni giving rate, among other factors
Once the date is collected and analyzed eaeh school is broken up into national universities and regional universities and the top 75 percent in each are published.
