Acadian Total Security celebrated its Houma grand opening March 11, becoming the only locally-based, full-service security, fire, medical alert and video guard services provider.

The company bought out Safeguard Alarm Services Inc. this year. The two were previously partners for more than 12 years. The buyout saw Safeguard’s employees join Acadian Total Security’s other 4,000 employee-owners.

Located at 272 Enterprise Drive, Acadian Total Security is one of six companies within Acadian.

The others are Acadian Ambulance Service, Air Med, Executive Aircraft Charter Service, National EMS Academy and Safety Management Systems.

“The transition is a win-win for the tri-parish area,” Rick Morales, former owner of Safeguard, said in a release. “Our people and our company deserve the very best safety and security services and, with Acadian Total Security, that is what they will get.”

Likewise, Acadian Total Security President Blane Comeaux touted the move.

“Our goal is to continue to administer the same exceptional service Safeguard has been providing the tri-parish region since 1973,” he said. “We look forward to bringing the latest and most advanced safety and security systems on the market to homes and businesses in the area.”

Earlier this year, the Acadian division purchased Safeguard Alarm Services Inc., with whom it partnered for more than 12 years.
