Angel Manuel Merlos, 81, a native of Jatibonico, Cuba, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 5:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. Mr. Merlos was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He worked 40 years at Main Iron Works. A devoted family man, he was good with his hands and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his son, Manuel (Martha) Merlos; daughter, Alina Merlos; brother, Juan Merlos; sisters, Maria and Matilde Merlos; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Donations in his memory may be made to the United Way for South Louisiana.
