Selected events at the Lafourche and Terrebonne parish libraries are listed below.

LAFOURCHE PARISH


“FLOWER POT BATS”

Oct. 7

Adults can create a centerpiece of ghoulish bats made from flowerpots. All participants must sign up at or call the library to register.


Raceland Branch, 10:30 a.m.

“HALLOWEEN LUMINARIES”

Oct. 8


Teens and tweens ages 10 and older can create their own Halloween-themed luminaries for decorations. All participants must sign up at the desk.

Choctaw Branch, 4 p.m.

“CRAFTING BEE”


Oct. 10

Kids of all ages can learn to loom knit a fall scarf.

Lockport Branch, 5 p.m.


“POISON PEN JOURNALS CRAFT”

Oct. 15

Teens of all ages can make their own “poison” pen journals. Teens must preregister.


Bayou Blue Branch, 4:30 p.m.

“MARSHMALLOW CATAPULT CRAFT”

Kids can make marshmallow catapults.

Golden Meadow Branch, 4:30 p.m.

“ORIGAMI RAMA”

Teens and tweens ages 10 to 18 can participate in this origami – themed event.

Teens and adults can wear costumes and play a life-size game of checkers.

Kids ages 3 to 9 can have a great time at the library, enjoying stories, a craft, games and a snack. Costumes are encouraged.

TERREBONNE PARISH

Teens can attend to plan activities and have fun. This group also counts as a great extra-curricular activity for college applications.
