Aubrey Anthony Landry Sr., 91, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:17 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.


Mr. Landry was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was the former president and founder of Landry Furniture and a United States Navy veteran quartermaster during World War II. He served in both the Pacific Theater and Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 3700, American Legion Post 31, Knights of Columbus Council 7355, 4th Degree Council and was awarded Bishop Warren Boudreaux’s Medal in 1983 for service to the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sons, Aubrey Jr., Jason and Eric Landry; daughters, Gail Istre, Susan Ayo, Cindy Landry and Clarissa Duplantis; brother, Burnell Landry; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 in Houma.
