An inmate In the Lafourche Parish Detention Center briefly escaped last week, but was quickly taken back into custody.

Donald Jackson. 50. of Thibodaux, was arrested on April 9 by the Thibodaux Mice Department on felony charges of theft He also had outstanding warrants in Terrebonne far five counts of felony theft three counts of issuing worthless check and one count of resisting an officer.


Jackson was assigned to the trustee dorm because he was previously a trustee in the jail He was considered a low-risk inmate for escape.

Around 7 pin. last Wednesday, he left the jail through the kitchen and walked to a portion of perimeter fences inmates don’t normally have access to. He was met by a white SUV took him to Terrebonne Parish. Later that night,, with assistance from Terrebonne Sheriff’s deputies and probation and parole officers, Jackson was taken into custody.

Because he was arrested in Terrebonne, Jack son remains there at this time on his warrants in that parish.


When he returns to Lafourcha, he will be booked with ample escape, as well as the TPD charges.
