Houma woman charged with domestic abuse battery

A 46-year-old Houma woman is charged after a domestic dispute, which allegedly ended with a shot being fired into the air.


On July 27, the Houma Police Department responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 7800 Block of West Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Nicole Reding, 46, was in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, which allegedly led to Reding pulling a firearm from her purse and pointing the weapon at the Victim.

The suspect and the Victim began to struggle, according to authorities and Reding allegedly fired a single shot in the air.


Responding officers said they had a brief struggle upon contact with Reding, but were eventually able to take her into custody.

She is charged with illegal use of a weapon, domestic abuse battery and resisting an officer.

Larose couple charged with cruelty to a juvenile


A Lafourche Parish couple is accused of hitting a child with a “paddle”, which was actually a 2X4.

On July 15, 2017, LPSO deputies said they began an investigation into possible child abuse.

Through investigation, juvenile detectives learned that Jared Richeaux, 30, of Larose, allegedly struck a child multiple times on the buttocks with What he referred to as a “paddle”.


As authorities L investigated the case, they learned that the “paddle” was actually a piece of wood that was 2-inches—by-4—inches thick with holes drilled into it.

This caused the child to suffer a large bruise and several red marks on his buttocks, according to authorities.

Detectives in the case also learned that Jada Verdin, 31, of Larose, had disposed of the piece of wood.


Following investigation, deputies said they obtained arrest warrants for Richeaux and Verdin.

Both suspects turned them-selves into authorities last week on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile.

Both suspects bonded out the same day as their arrest.


Wanted suspect arrested in Biloxi

A suspect wanted in Terrebonne Parish was arrested this past week at a casino in Biloxi.

Terrebonne Narcotics Agents have been actively searching for Jeff Anthony Gautreaux, 36, after an investigation led to warrants for his arrest on multiple drug-related charges.


Authorities said they received information last week that Gautreaux had been hiding out in Biloxi.

These agents looked into the information last week and discovered that Gautreaux was at the Imperial Palace in Biloxi.

Terrebonne Narcotics Agents worked with the Biloxi Police Department and located Gautreaux at his hotel room inside the casino on Friday morning.


When Gautreaux was located, he had multiple bags of crystal meth and a firearm in his possession, according to authorities.

He was taken to jail in Biloxi Where he is charged for possession of the narcotics and the gun charge.

He awaits being sent to Terrebonne Parish Where he is wanted for possession With intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (meth), possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Diazepam), illegal proceeds from drug transactions, monetary instrument abuse and possession of drug par-phernalia.


Suspects arrested after fight on Grand Caillou Road

Two suspects are in custody of the Houma Police Department after they allegedly attacked a 25-year-old woman.

On Aug. 2, 2017, at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the HPD were called to a disturbance in the 900 block of Grand Caillou Road in reference to a fight in the area.


When on the scene, authorities encountered a 25-year-old female Victim who said she was attacked by two females that she identified as Crenshawn Singleton, 24, and Creshawna Mason, 19.

During the alleged altercation, one of the suspects allegedly threw an automotive detergent into the eyes of the Victim.

While the Victim was temporarily blinded by the chemical, the second suspect allegedly deployed a stun gun on her.


Officers said they later located both Singleton and Mason and took each into custody for their alleged role in the incident.

Both were taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail Where they were booked on charges of aggravated battery.

Authorities look for suspect in thefts from hotel


The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a black female who was caught on surveillance allegedly taking cash from a drawer at local hotels.

On August 4 just before 2 am. Terrebonne Parish deputies responded to the Comfort Inn and the Mainstay Suites — both on Grand Caillou Road — in reference to thefts from the cash registers behind the front desks.

The front desk clerk at the Comfort Inn said she received a call from a customer asking that she go to a room in the upper floor to help locate a cell phone that had been left behind.


The clerk said she went to the room and didn’t find the phone, but when she got back, she noticed that cash had been stolen from the register.

Surveillance Video obtained from the hotel shows a black woman wearing Capri pants with a pink and gray hooded sweatshirt allegedly jumping over the counter and stealing cash from the drawer.

Authorities said they also Viewed surveillance from the Mainstay and the same woman is allegedly seen leaping over the counter while the clerk was away.


In this case, the suspect was not able to locate any money.

Authorities said during investigation, they learned that the same suspect had also gone to other hotels on the east side of Houma and had attempted to do the same.
