Suspect runs over woman, knocks another unconscious

A 20-year-old Thibodaux man is in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly ran over a man and knocked out another.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on May 8, deputies were called to a disturbance on Choctaw Road in reference to a woman having been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies observed bystanders helping a woman in her 40s who was lying on the side of the road.

Through investigation, deputies learned that Kip LeBlanc, 20, of Thibodaux, had pushed the woman down and then rolled over her legs in a pickup truck, before fleeing the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

As authorities investigated further, they also learned that before the incident with the woman, LeBlanc had allegedly punched another woman in the face, knocking her unconscious.

This woman had been living with LeBlanc until recently.

After being called, LeBlanc was arrested without incident.

He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and domestic abuse battery.
