Thibodaux man arrested for kidnapping, beating his ex

A 34-year-old Thibodaux man is accused of kidnapping and beating his ex.

On Dec. 23, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a kidnapping call on Waverly Road in Thibodaux.

Authorities on the scene then learned that Van Andre, 34, of Thibodaux, made contact with his ex-girlfriend and a verbal argument ensued.

When the woman walked inside her residence, the suspect allegedly forced the woman out of the house and into his vehicle.

Authorities said he then drove the woman to his residence on Ledet Drive.

Authorities made contact with the suspect at his residence and he was taken into custody immediately.

The victim was found inside and authorities said they learned that Andre had struck her several times.

Andre is charged with simple kidnapping and domestic abuse battery. He also had a warrant for contempt of court.

He is held on a $106,000 bond at the Lafourche Jail.
