Bertha Miller Benoit, 89, a native of Grand Chenier, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.
Mrs. Benoit retired from the Terrebonne Parish School System in 1983. She taught at Lisa Park Elementary, Broadmoor Elementary, Evergreen Junior High, Daigleville School and Jennings High School. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bluegrass music, dancing, cooking, canning, and visiting Branson, Mo.
Mrs. Benoit is survived by her son, Paul (Son Hui) Benoit; daughters, Cynthia (Rodney) Gaudet and Karen (Daniel) Blanchard; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Philip (Marlene) Miller and Leon (Ann) Leger.
Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
