One man is in custody and another is wanted in connection with the burglary of a convenience store in Lafourche Parish.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on December 27, LPSO deputies were called to a convenience store located along La. Highway 1 in Raceland in reference to a possible burglary.

Upon arrival, authorities said they observed signs of forced entry.

They searched the store, but no one was on the scene.

Through investigation, authorities determined that two suspects entered the store and stole several items of merchandise. They quickly developed Dante Hester, 25, of Raceland, as one of the suspects.

Later that morning, authorities located Hester inside the same convenience store.

During questioning, Hester allegedly admitted to his involvement in the crime.

He was taken under arrest and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.

He was charged with one count of simple burglary.

His bond has been set at $5,000.

But authorities said that the investigation is not over because they believe one other person was on the scene on the night of the break-in.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org.
