T’is the season: Plenty give back this Christmas season
December 7, 2016

29: South Lafourche’s defense smothered and swarmed Berwick on Friday at the Terrebone High School Tournament. The Tarpons limited the Panthers to just 29 points in a 39-29 victory. South Lafourche’s defense challenged the Panthers to shoot outside shots, which didn’t fall in the win.

8: South Terrebonne’s girls basketball team already has eight wins this season – matching the number of victories the team collected a year ago. Kudos to Nick Cenac and his staff on a job well done over in Bourg.

92: Ellender’s girls basketball team is among the best in the state in Class 4A – there’s no question about it. But the Lady Patriots had a whale of a time corralling Destrehan this past weekend, surrendering 92 points to the Lady Wildcats in a blowout defeat. Ellender will bounce back. We’re sure of it.

30: This past week may have made many believers in the Houma Christian girls’ basketball team. The Christian Warriors got a pair of huge wins last week – first trumping South Lafourche and then St. Michael – a pair of title contenders in Class 4A. The victory over St. Michael was decisive and dominant – a 30-point win.
