3: Three local girls’ basketball teams flexed their muscles and swept through the Walker Tournament unscathed. South Lafourche, E.D. White and Houma Christian all survived the weekend without losses – something awfully tough to do against top-light competition.

0: CCA guard Dakari Johnson has a flare for the dramatic. With the clock heading toward zero in the Lions game with Grand Isle and the score tied at 33, Johnson penetrated the lane and ended the game with a one-handed lush, which sealed victory for CCA.

9: The Houma Christian girls’ basketball program continues to boom. The Lady Warriors now have nine wins on the season, having conquered some of the top programs in Louisiana, including South Lafourche, St. Michael and Salmen – a team they beat this past weekend in Walker.

28: With South Lafourche trailing Lafayette, the Tarpons decided to put the Lions on the line throughout the fourth quarter of Friday’s game. The result was a fourth quarter which lasted 28 minutes, thanks to all the stoppages. South Lafourche won the quarter, but couldn’t rally for the win.
