Carmelite Brown, 84, a native of White Castle, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.


Mrs. Brown was a retired teacher of St. Charles Parish School Board, with more than 30 years of service. She loved cooking and enjoyed spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, Donna (fiance: Ronnie Theriot) Migues; Mike, Lori Jean Brown, Gary (Sonda Croker), Barbara (Dwayne) Schexnayder and Valerie (David) Folse; daughter-in-law, Livea Brown; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosie Pfister.

Visitation is today from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Nativity Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with burial in the church cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Mrs. Carmelite’s name to Parkinson’s Foundation and Hospice of Acadiana. (Falgout)
