Charles “Whitney” Painter, 93, a native of Gonzales, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 9:49 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016.


Mr. Painter loved carpentry and repairing all sorts of things.

He is survived by his son, Spencer (Jeanette) Painter; daughter, Charlene (Charles) Cooper; half-brother, Russell Painter Jr.; sister, Marylene Bourgeois and half-sister, Carol Ann Guidry; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Burial is at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Houma.
