September 27, 2018Charles Pershing Winder Jr., 71, passed away peacefully September 17,2018 at 4:48pm in Houma Louisiana
Charlie was born on August 19, 1947, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. A graduate of Nicholls State University, he served as First Lieutenant in the Army Aviation Corps and in the Vietnam War before returning to Louisiana to raise his family and work in sales. He was a devoted husband and father to his three daughters.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janelee Winder; mother, Grace Jean Winder; children, Meredith Ledet and husband, Ben, and their children, Matthew and Kathryn; Candace Benoit and husband, Bruce, and their daughter, Emma; Melissa Hughes and husband, David, and their children, Charlotte and Alexander; sister, Carol Thomas; and mother-in-law, Janelee Guidry.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
