Chester “Red” Jean Brunet Sr, 89, a native of Theriot, Louisiana, and resident of Chauvin, Louisiana, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.


Mr. Brunet was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked for McDermott for more than 30 years. He loved painting with glitter and “glitz.” Mr. Brunet looked forward to going to his camp and fishing in his younger years. During his time off from work, he shared a love with his grandkids of farming and raising farm animals.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Mae Chauvin Brunet; daughters, Patricia (Frank) Verret, Genevieve “Vee” (John) Voisin, Doris (Allen) Punch and Geraldine “Denny” (Thomas) Hargroves; son, Joseph “Joe Black” (Christine) Brunet; daughter-in-law, Chickie Brunet; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment is at St. Elie Cemetery.
