Tarpons hopeful for renewed success in 2018
September 6, 2018The Nicholls soccer team has been close to victory in almost every match in their early-season slate.
But on Friday, they finally broke the Ice and got in the winner’s circle.
The Colonels beat Alcorn State 2-1 in overtime on Friday in a match played at E.D. White High School because of the inclement weather throughout the day.
The Colonels trailed 1-0 early in the match, out senior midfielder Francesca Curtis Had other plans for the day. She scared the equalizer late in regulation to send the match to overtime, then put the Colonels an top In overtime with another goal just six minutes later to secure the win.
“The last few games, I Kind of got frustrated when the ban didn’t go in.” Curtels said. “This game, I was Just thinking that I have to keep with It. keep making those runs and it will happen and today. It happened.”
