4 in custody after stealing from dead Lafourche man

Four suspects are in the custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after they allegedly stole from a Galliano man following his death.

On Dec. 23, authorities were called to the home of David Labiche, 61, after he was found dead by friends who had gone to check on him at his Galliano home.

During the investigation, authorities found no signs of trauma to Labiche’s body.

Authorities did, however, discover Labiche’s wallet, and it appeared as though someone had rummaged through it, which opened an investigation.

During that time, authorities learned that William Regan III, Kristin Regan and Mia Johnson frequently visited with Labiche at his residence.

Contact was made with Kristin Regan and Mia Johnson and both denied any knowledge of Labiche’s death. They said they had been out of town over the past few days.

On December 26, an autopsy revealed that Labiche had died of a heart attack two days prior to being found by law enforcement.

Detectives contacted the suspects again, and they both allegedly admitted to lying in the first interview.

Authorities also contacted William Regan III and questioned him about the incident, which led to more details about what happened.

Authorities learned that the Regans, Johnson and a fourth suspect, Isaiah Terrebonne, 26, of Cut Off, were all at Labiche’s house when he suffered a heart attack and died.

The group told authorities they were afraid to call the cops at the time of the incident, because they had been consuming illegal narcotics throughout the night.

Before leaving the house, investigators learned that the group stole two rifles from Labiche’s home, as well as two debit cards.

They allegedly made several withdrawals from the man’s accounts with the cards.

The Regans and Johnson were arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where they were each booked with one count of felony theft and felony theft of a firearm.

William Regan III was additionally booked with viola tion of probation and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery.

His bond was set at $90,000, while the others were set at $20,000.

Warrants were issued for Terrebonne’s arrest at the same time as the other three suspects, but he was not apprehended right away.

Authorities located him on December 29 – three days after the initial arrests.

He, too, is booked on charges of felony theft and felony theft of a firearm.

His bond is set at $15,000, but he is also being held for Terrebonne Parish authorities on five charges of contempt of court.

Galliano man arrested following disturbance

A 48-year-old Galliano man is in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after a disturbance at a Larose residence.

On December 27 at around 2:45 a.m., authorities were called to East 7th Street in Larose in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, authorities made contact with a woman who told them that Jarrod Lorraine, 48, of Galliano, had busted down her door after she refused to let him in.

Authorities said that the woman attempted to use pepper spray on Lorraine, but he took the can from her and used it on her.

The victim said Lorraine then started throwing things in the apartment. The victim said she was struck in the face with a piece of the broken door.

Lorraine allegedly struck another female in the residence and dragged her outside.

Once 911 was called, Lorraine fled the scene.

Authorities searched the area and found the suspect hiding outside.

He was arrested and is charged with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized entry of an inhabited swelling and simple battery. His bond is set at $50,500.
