Jail inmate accused of rape dies after hanging

July 4, 2016Curtis “Curt” Paul DeHart Sr., 61, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Mr. DeHart was a senior warden at St. Andrew’s Epsicopal Chruch and volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Fanguy DeHart; sons, Curtis Jr. and Nick (Miranda) DeHart; daughter, Angelique (Ron) Lirette; brothers, Irvin Jr., Reginald and Wayne DeHart; sisters, Verdie (Charles) Lovell, Jeanette (Buddy) Daisy, Judy Dieck, Katherine (Dana) Lirette, Carles Neal and Pamela Duncan; and five grandchildren.
Burial is at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery in Houma.
