Dennis “Spice” Vegas, age 62, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was a native of Grand Isle and a resident of Houma.
Spice is survived by his wife of 25 years, Libby Thibodeaux Vegas; son, Ben Portier and wife Katie; daughters. Chastity and husband Donny Pitre, and Sierra Vegas; granddaughters. Carli’ and Chloe’ Pitre; father, Herbert Vegas brother, Luigi Vegas and wife liaa; sister. Angel Vegas Blanchard and husband Toby; Godchild. Mark Pregeant II; nieces, Aly and Savannah Blanchard; nephew. Dominic Vegas; and marry nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Koda Bear.
Spice was a man of great faith, He was a loving son, bus-tend, father, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family. Spice had a beautiful personality and never met a stranger. He loved watching the Saints and LSU games, music, dancing and relaxing on the beach Spice was an educator. Be had a love of learning and educating others. He taught karate for many years and was an inspiration to everyone he encountered. “I fought the good fight, and I’m leaving with pride.”
