Donald Joseph Boudreaux, 87, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015.


A parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mr. Boudreaux was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp who served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He worked at the V. A. Office for many years. He loved photography and traveling. He was a member of the Fire House Squares Club. And he was a pioneer in genealogy. His 50 books of researching Acadian families are in the North Terrebonne Library, where he was a longtime member.

He is survived by his sons, David (Beth), James (Sherry), Don (Trudy) and Dale (Sharon) Boudreaux; daughters: Sharon (Teddy) Potter and Michelle (Allen) Bourdier; brother, Julius Boudreaux; sisters: Rose Duplantis and Lola Silver; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
