Donna Samanie Callahan, 59, a native Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died on Monday, April 17, 2017.
Mrs. Callahan was known for her grace, sharp wit and smile. She loved spending time with loved ones and taking care of pets including strays and rescues. She enjoyed restoring antique sewing machines and was fascinated by hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband, Barney Callahan; mother, Charlene Samanie; daughter, Rachael (Bryan) Hines; step-children, Travis and Krista Callahan; sisters, Debbie (Blake) Hebert, Darla (Ricky) Dupre and Dawn Kilpatrick; and two grandchildren.
Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2 in Houma.
