Dr. Warren L. Fischer, 92, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015.


Mr. Fischer was a board certified optometrist from 1948-85. He was a captain in the Army Air Corp during World War II and flew 19 missions over Germany. Mr. Fischer was also a member of the Lion’s Club, Knights of Columbus, the Library Board and the Cursillo Movement. In addition, he was a Eucharistic minister, a member of local bowling leagues in the 1950s and 1960s, and an avid fisherman and hunter who served on many fishing club boards.

Mr. Fischer is survived by his sons, Myron (Darlene) and Warren (Anastasia) Fischer Jr.; daughters, Shirley (James) Fischer Zielger, Julie Fischer and Mary (Carol) Fischer Pitre; brother, Eugene Fisher, Jr.; and seven grandchildren.

Burial is at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
