Earl J. Williams Sr., 86, a native and resident of Houma, La., died peacefully Friday, April 24, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family


Mr. Williams ran a clothing store on Main Street, which he opened in 1946. The store still bears his name. After his retirement, he turned the business over to his daughters and son. He supported his church, Vandebilt Catholic High School and was a charter member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Houma.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Waguespack Williams; children, Randy (Linda) Williams, Martha Pittman, Charlette (Mart) Black; Joann Williams, Earl Williams Jr., Van Williams and Ann (Kim) Hebert; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society and St. Francis de Sales Church in Mr. Earl’s name are appreciated.


Visitation is today from 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A funeral mass will begin at noon. Burial will follow at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery (Chauvin Funeral Home)
