With the New Year often cones the goal to eat healthier and lose weight Watching what you eat is always a good idea’s but a few of the most popular food lifestyle changes, including Keto, Whole 30 and Paleo, have strict guidelines to follow. These strict guidelines don’t mean you have to always pack a lunch or never eat out again! Life just moves too fast for that. With a little creative ordering, yon will he surprised at the options yon have at some of the more popular fast food restaurants found around town.

When eating on the go, there are a few general guidelines to keep in mind, Try to stick to meat, cheese and veggies and avoid the bun. Not all salads are created equal-be mindful of dressings Dressings like dried fruits and cheese. Ask for a nutritional menu. Restaurants can tell you what the net curbs, fat and calories are for all items listed on their menu to help you make an informed decision.

KFC: For a keto-friendly option, try the grilled chicken with a side of green beans.

Popeyes: Blacked chicken traders green beans with bacon bits.

Subway: A low-carb option is a salad bowl with meats such as salami, spicy pepperoni, ham, turkey, or roast beef along with your favorite veggies.


Wendy’s: Popular low-carb choices include a Baconator or grilled chicken sandwiches without the buns.

Chick-fil-A: Grilled nuggets follow the low-carb guidelines. Add the super food side salad if you are going more Paleo or Whole SO.

Jimmy John’s: Sandwiches become “unwiches” by subbing in lettuce wraps for bread Try turkey or roast beef and add bacon, tomatoes, onions and avocados.


Arty’s: There’s way more than roast beef on the menu! Try the Roast Turkey Farmhouse salad or the turkey gyro.

Burger King Sure any burger can be ordered without the bun, but give the Veggie Burger a try! The Garden Chicken Salad can be ordered without croutons or cheese as well.

Taco Bell: So it sounds kinda strange, but the Naked Taco on the breakfast is made from a fried egg “shell” that is Keto friendly!


Starbucks: Try a grande iced coffee with heavy whipping cream.

Sonic: Steer clear of the sugary drinks! For a quick lunch, order the double cheese burger or even a hot dog without the bun. Load up on toppings like lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon and sour kraut.

Pizza Hut/Dominos’ Papa John’s; Just because you can’t have pizza and stay in ketosis, doesn’t mean you can’t order for delivery. Try the Buffalo wings with no breading. Pizza Hut offers Gallic Parmesan that’s pretty tasty too.


Moe’s Southwest Grill: The burrito bowl without rice or beans makes for an excellent low-carb option. Add your meat, sour cream, lettuce, salsa and guacamole and you are ready to fill up on deliciousness.
