BREAKING: Grand jury clears Terrebonne deputy in 2014 shooting death of teen

Elisse Monet Stine, 40, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, March 14, 2015.


Ms. Stine was a professional ballerina who studied and performed all over the United States. When she was 12, she received a scholarship from the Thibodaux Music Club, the only dance scholarship the organization ever awarded. When she was 14, she was awarded a full all-inclusive scholarship to the prestigious HARID Conservatory in Boca Raton, Fla. Her favorite job was teaching children, whether teaching children ballet or Montessori Method to kindergartners. She held a beachelor’s degree in family and concumer science from Nicholls State University.

She is survived by her parents, Armida LaCour Stine and Kyle Kenneth Stine Jr.; sister, Simonne Gros; brother, Kyle (Cassie) Stine III; and several other relatives.

Burial is at St. John the Evangelist in Thibodaux.
