Eugene “Papa Gene” Anthony Dusenbery, 88, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015.
Mr. Dusenbery was the patriarch of the Dusenbery Family Singers, a Cajun musical group including him, wife Wilma and their children. He was also a Korean War veteran who served as sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by children, Gene Ellen (Jerry) Sanders, Time (Karen) Dusenbery, Rosie (Carey) Naquin, Veronica (Ronnie) Trahan, Cindy (Danny) Fanguy, Margaret (Chet) Defren, Monica (Dwayne) Pellegrin, Amelie (Ted) Thibodaux, Annette Dusenbery, Louis Dusenbery, Marie (Terry) Lirette and Annie Dusenbery; daughter-in-law, Kathy Greve; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society are appreciated.
Burial is at St. Francis de Sales No. 2.
