Sheriff calls cuts a ‘no-win’ situation

Fabian Thibodeaux Whitney, 68, passed away at 4:17 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, surrounded by her family. She was a native and resident of Houma, La.


Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, Nov. 30, at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin following visitation on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma, La. Burial will take place after Mass in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Fabian is survived by her loving husband, Gregory “Greg” Anthony Whitney Sr.; children, Gregory Anthony Whitney, Jr., Sebastian Michael Whitney, Tara Lynn Whitney, Abraham Paul Whitney and wife Kim Voisin Whitney; grandchildren, Logan Bailey Whitney, Emily Clair Whitney, London Sebastian Whitney, Baylen Matthew Whitney, Adalyn Grace Whitney, Carson Paul Whitney, Riley Olivia Whitney, her siblings, Darlene Thibodeaux, Karen Cadiere and husband Eugene, Enos Thibodeaux Jr. and wife Stacy; mother-in-law, Elmay Domangue Whitney and numerous brothers and sisters in law, and nieces and nephews.

Fabian is preceded in death by her parents, Enos Thibodeaux Sr. and Margie Pitre Thibodeaux; sisters, Bethany McNamara, Julie Konciezka, father-in-law, Stanley Bernard Whitney.


Fabian is survived by her family and friends at Chabert Medical Center and the medical community. She was loved by many who worked by her side. She was a humble person who volunteered her time in the St. Bernadette Community and with the Catholic Daughters of America.
